The Global Fashioning Assembly is an international 3-day online event that follows the sun around the world from Friday 20 October 2022 at 02:00am UTC till Sunday 23 October 2022 at 11:00pm UTC. The programme offers an immersion into the pluriverse of fashion. As a coalitional gathering beyond institutional, disciplinary and geographical boundaries, it aims to decentralise knowledge creation and sharing regarding fashion.
We welcome you to join twelve coalitions from around the world that will share activities including interviews, panel discussions, a meme workshop, weaving and design studio visits, exhibition talks, a ritual, films, market visits, and more. Each offering is underpinned by the urgent need to decolonise the fashion system focusing on resilience, resistance and diversity through local attention, activations and celebrations.
All events are accessible through a single ZOOM link, so you can join any event at any time, or even join us in the 1-hour Sharing Councils between each session.
